kafzielSo I finally got off my ass and actually got a Livejournal account. Only took me 2 years of saying "Damn, I wish I had one of those.", too. Yeah, go me.
Seems like the thing to do with the first entry is a quick "who da fuck is dis guy" paragraph or so. OK. Name's Jim, 19-year-old male human living in northern Virginia. 4th year student at the University of Baltimore. Fan of the anime. Fan of the console RPGs. Fan of the D&D and suchlike, assuming you've got a good group. Fan of pretentious pseudo-intellectual stuff (got Xenosaga the day it hit!), so long as it's entertaining. Fan of most anything, as long as it's good. Basic philosophy on life is a fairly self-centered mix o' nihilism and utilitarianism. Religiously, I probably count as a non-practicing Orthodox Unitarian. Currently co-writing a book on what an Orthodox Unitarian is, so don't be confused by not recognizing the term; I made it up -grin-. Heavily into denial and self-delusion. Have no idea what to do with my life. Kinda worried about that.
So, yeah. Basically, this journal is here for me to write up or link to whatever catches my fancy, and pretend that people care. A bit of self-indulgent wankage, as it were, but I paid all of $5 for this account, so I'm allowed to. Ha.
Anyway, content. As I write this, I'm watching Meet The Feebles (ain't file-sharing great?). It's pretty entertaining, but is really trashy. I mean, this is complete, unadulterated trash. And so random, too. In the space of 2 minutes, it goes from filming bovine BDSM/snuff porn to an on-stage performance of Don Giovanni, in the original Italian, starring an anthropomorphic bulldog. Rii~ight. Fun movie, though. Thing is, this was written, directed, and produced by Peter Jackson, and is one of the few movies he did before Lord of the Rings. Along with Bad Taste, The Frighteners, Braindead, etc. This is all that he had experience with. So just how the flying fuck did he get Lord of the Rings? For that matter, how was he able to do such a kickass job with Lord of the Rings?
